even pendulum-like grooves. Far from being obscure, David shows how
to make the odd times come alive in amazing ways. The 3, 5 and 7 rhythms
are clearly explained step by step with demonstrations aided by Adam
Armstrong on bass.
The video culminates with a free improvisation between David, Adam and
guest guitarist Jack Jones, putting all the odd-time grooves and metric
modulations into a performance context. The video also includes some
tips on preparation such as physical and mental attitudes to playing,
"non-violent" warm-ups, focus on breathing and visualising.
