1999 Those fortunate enough to catch AtmaSphere are still talking about their concerts in superlatives. This second release has more focus on spoken word pieces than the first album. The CD takes the listener on a trip through many moods and colours; the music is at times intensely personal, at others virtuosic, and then tranquil; throughout the CD you find style, substance and character. The nine tracks on the album range from 1 minute of silence (Silent Sanctuary) to fifteen minutes (AtmaSuite), in which Davids polyrhymia is well evident. The poetry of Sydneys Marjorie Pizer (Seasons of the Heart) receives a luscious musical soundscape whilst Inside, the piece inspired by a short Rumi poem, is dramatic and edgy. Carmen Warringtons ability to vocally match Davids sticking patterns in Rhythm of the Whole Thing is a joy, as is Davids tour de force drum solo. The meditation song Sanctuary is beautifully complemented by Justine Bradleys angelic backing vocals. Seasons of the Heart is a graceful, courageous CD, that is peaceful, vibrant, funny, demanding, introspective, dynamic and quiet. " innovative, borderless music" Anil Prasad, i/e Magazine "This attractive idiosyncratic outfit is like nothing you have ever heard its new, its different and anything but obscure experimentation."
